THE SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS SEARCHING FOR TWO SUSPECTS AFTER ROBBERS KIDNAP A HOMEOWNER — AND TAKE HIM TO HIS BUSINESS. SEDGWICK COUNTY INVESTIGATORS SAY THE ARMED ROBBERS BROKE INTO AN EAST SIDE HOME, KIDNAPPED THE HOMEOWNER AND FORCED HIM TO TAKE THEM TO HIS BUSINESS… WHICH BUYS AND SELLS GOLD AND SILVER. SHERIFF’S DETECTIVES SEARCH FOR CLUES IN THIS HOME NEAR THIRTEENTH AND 143RD EAST… THEY SAY TWO MEN WEARING BLACK SKI MASKS BROKE INTO THE HOME THROUGH A WINDOW AROUND 3:30 THIS MORNING. THEY HELD THE 72 YEAR OLD HOMEOWNER AND HIS WIFE AT GUNPOINT. “one of the suspects stayed with her at the house and then one took the husband to the store then home then released them.” THE STORE… IS HEARTLAND COIN GALLERY NEAR K-96 AND GREENWICH ROAD… DEPUTIES KEPT IT CORDONED OFF FOR HOURS AFTER THE CRIME. “it was obviously some coins, we are trying to determine beyond that what was taken anything unique that was taken that we can be out on the lookout for.” I TALKED TO THE WIFE OF THE HOMEOWNER.. SHE DIDN’T WANT TO BE INTERVIEWED ON CAMERA, SAYING SHE WAS STILL SHAKEN, BUT DOING OK. NEIGHBORS OF THE COUPLE SAY THEY ARE TERRIFIED… SAYING THEY CAN ARE NOW ON EDGE.. “if somebody breaks in and they have a gun and you don’t do what you’re told, nothing is worth your life” THE FIRST SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MAN 5’8-6’0 — WEIGHING ABOUT 240 POUNDS. ABOUT 30-35 YEARS OLD. HE WAS WEARING A BLACK NORTH FACE SWEATSHIRT WITH WHITE WRITING. HE HAD ON BLACK PANTS, A BLACK SKI MASK AND A BLACK STOCKING CAP. THE SECOND SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A BLACK MALE, WHO GOES BY MIKE OR MARK. HE’S 5’5 WITH A STOCKY BUILD, ABOUT 30 YEARS OLD WEARING ALL BLACK CLOTHING. THE SUSPECTS STOLE THE VICTIM’S DARK BURGUNDY 2005 LEXUS 330. WITH KANSAS LICENSE PLATE 191 ECK. A COUPLE IS IN POLICE CUSTODY THIS EVENING – ACCUSED OF TAKING THEIR YOUNG KIDS
