The Ethereum Foundation has recently said that over $2.46 million in grants will be given to finance Ethereum 2.0 development. The teams in question are tasked with creating Test Networks that work with multiple clients as the first phase of development approaches. ETH 2.0 has been something that man have been speaking about in the crypto space for some time. If it does come sooner than later how will this affect the crypto space? The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority has given two banking and securities dealer licences to crypto-focused banks. Two Swiss crypto-specializing firms, Seba Crypto AG and Sygnum have received banking and securities dealer licenses, With the new license, Seba expects to officially launch its new trading platform platform in early October 2019, the company stated. Seba’s plans include the establishment of a digital asset platform for professional traders, firms and institutional clients, as well as custody storage and asset management. German bank WEG Bank has gained cryptocurrency trading and custody in Estonia. the firm also announced that it is now trying to take hold of a securities trading and custody license in Germany. The bank stated: “We announce that as of today we have secured full access to a crypto trading and custody license in Estonia and are equally applying for a securities trading and custody license in Germany.” How will this affect the bank and crypto markets in estonia? English Premier League football club Manchester City also known as Man City has announced a partnership with South Korean blockchain football gaming startup Superbloke. Superbloke incorporates the club’s players into its blockchain-powered soccer game FC Superstars enabling fans to support the athletes through online gaming. Following the partnership, Superbloke becomes Man City’s official blockchain-based Gacha partner in Korea, Japan and SouthEast Asia, as the club announced. What is the future of sports blockchain and cryptocurrency? The crypto exchange Binance will launch its first crypto lending product on Aug. 28, 2019. holders of Binance Coin (BNB), Ethereum Classic (ETC) and Tether (USDT) will be able to lend their assets and earn interest through Binance’s new service called Binance Lending. The services will be available for subscription from Aug. 28 till Aug. 29, Binance noted in a recent announcement. Lending products will have an initial 14-day period. BNB will have the highest annualized interest rate of 15% while the rates for USDT and ETC amount to 10% and 7%, respectively. How will lending affect binance, and crypto more generally?
